St Johns Visit!
Today we had Mac from St Johns come and visit us. We learnt about what number to ring in an emergency but also that we only ring that number if it is a real emergency....not for fun!!
He showed us a gas mask and how it works. We also learnt how to bandage someone up if they hurt themselves. It was so much fun...Check it out!!

Firetruck Visit!
Today we were lucky enough to have a firetruck and 4 firefighters come and visit us at school. We got to have a look at all of the different things on a firetruck and they even used their water hose to show us how powerful it is! One of the firefighters got dressed up in the clothes he wears to fight fires. We saw that he doesn't look scary, so if there is a fire we don't have to be scared of them. We are so grateful that there are Firemen and woman who help to look after us!

Police Visit!
We have been learning about people who help us and so we had Constable Dimi come in to class to talk to us about how to keep safe around the road. He talked to us about all of the different parts of the road and how to cross it safely. We learnt a song that goes like this...

STOP. LOOK. LISTEN.
Before you cross the street.

Use your eyes and ears,
Before you use your feet.

Measurement
This week we have been learning about measurement. We traced around our feet, cut them out and glued them onto black paper. We have learnt that you can measure using things other than rulers! We used 3 different items (beads, cubes and dice) to measure how long our feet are. It was fun!!

Fiji
The Kea team are learning about Fiji this term. We have learnt that the capital of Fiji is Suva, that it is very hot in Fiji and that they grow and eat coconuts there.
Mrs Hughes brought in a coconut for us to have a look at. We shook it and heard the coconut milk inside it and then we cracked it open and we saw the beautiful white inside of it.

Greedy Cat!

Room 3 have been reading some stories about Greedy Cat. He is so greedy and likes to eat all sorts of food.
Some of the children got to make a pic collage of them asking Greedy Cat a question.
