2016 has been a wonderful year with the students working very hard to master new concepts and making many new friends.
Please remember that school closes early tomorrow (Friday 16th December) so please don't forget to pick your loved one up at the earlier time of 12.45.

I hope you all have a safe and happy holiday!

Merry Christmas from Room 3 and Miss Barratt.

Welcome Back!

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to term 4! Wow, the last term of the school year has certainly come around quickly and room 3 has already hit the ground running. This term is very jam packed with different events so please keep an eye on the class blog and the notices in the school newsletter which will contain all of the important information you need to be aware of.

Please also remember that children need to have their school hats to wear at break times this term as it gets very sunny and hot as we transition into Summer. The hats are to be left at school and can be purchased from the office if you need one.

Thanks,
Miss Barratt and Room Three

St John in school!

Kia ora everyone,

Today rooms 3 and 4 were lucky enough to have Sue from St John come and visit us at PCS. We learnt all about what to do in an emergency and how to help people when they are hurt. We got to see some of the special equipment St John ambulance staff use to make people feel better and even helped bandage up poor Mrs Munam.

Here are some photos of the fun we had!

Thanks for stopping by,
Miss Barratt and Room 3.

Mini Olympic Sports Day!

Kia Orana,

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow Friday 5th of August is our P.C.S. mini Olympics Day. The children are encouraged to wear sports clothes (including appropriate footwear such as sneakers) or to dress in their favourite countries colors.
As part of our Olympic topic this term each classroom is adopting a country to support. Room Three will be supporting Jamaica so your child could also wear yellow, black or green.
We are very much looking forward to this and hope that the weather cooperates.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Thanks for stopping by,
Miss Barratt and Room Three.

Reading Challenge!

Kia Orana,

This week we have started our school wide reading challenge which will run until week 6.
Each student has been given a bingo style form with different types and styles of books for them to try and read. Their reading challenge forms have been glued into their pink notebooks.
You could support your child by taking them to a public library and helping them choose some interesting stories and listening to their readers each night.
Please help your child to read as many books as possible and initial and date the box once they have completed each relevant story.

Thank you for your support,

Miss Barratt and the Room Three Super Readers!

Spelling Lists

Welcome Back!

I hope you have all had a wonderful break.

Room 3 have hit the ground running this term and are straight back into our classroom routines with one new addition - spelling lists.

Every Monday your child will receive a list of words in their pink notebook for them to practice. It would be great if you could help them learn to recognise, write and spell the words or letters they have been given so that they are reading for our spelling test on Fridays.

Thank you for your support,
Miss Barratt.
