As part of our topic this term we have been learning about the Olympic Games.
On Friday the 5th of August we held our mini school Olympics morning where the children got to participate in lots of different sports activities run by Counties Manukau.
We had heaps of fun and got to take part in volleyball, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, relay races and even hockey.

Here are some photos of New Zealand's future Olympians.

Mini Olympic Sports Day!

Kia Orana,

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow Friday 5th of August is our P.C.S. mini Olympics Day. The children are encouraged to wear sports clothes (including appropriate footwear such as sneakers) or to dress in their favourite countries colors.
As part of our Olympic topic this term each classroom is adopting a country to support. Room Three will be supporting Jamaica so your child could also wear yellow, black or green.
We are very much looking forward to this and hope that the weather cooperates.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Thanks for stopping by,
Miss Barratt and Room Three.

Reading Challenge!

Kia Orana,

This week we have started our school wide reading challenge which will run until week 6.
Each student has been given a bingo style form with different types and styles of books for them to try and read. Their reading challenge forms have been glued into their pink notebooks.
You could support your child by taking them to a public library and helping them choose some interesting stories and listening to their readers each night.
Please help your child to read as many books as possible and initial and date the box once they have completed each relevant story.

Thank you for your support,

Miss Barratt and the Room Three Super Readers!
