Team assembly

Room 3 hosted our Year 1 team assembly with room 1. We got to make announcements and shared some work. Some of us also received certificates to recognise the awesome work we do and our awesome attitudes too! This was also an opportunity to practise for our whole school assembly.

Samoan Language Week

Talofa Lava
It was Samoan language week and Room 3 had a go at learning some new words like days of the week, numbers and greetings. We also had Mr & Mrs Filipo (Azurra's parents) to share some Samoan artifacts and stories about Samoa. We enjoyed their visit and learned some awesome facts about Samoa! Mr & Mrs Filipo also treated us with delicious Whittakers chocolates!!! Fa'afetai tele!

Science award!

Wow! we were so proud when we were chosen as one of the winners of  Top Bananas in science at assembly on Monday! What an achievement for Room 3's little scientist! You did a great job investigating and reporting during Science Week!

Story Time

On Tuesday we were privileged to have a visitor from Waiwera come and tell us a story about Matariki (Maori New Year). Our lovely visitor Cecelia, is Ezryana's nana! We loved listening to the story and asking Cecelia questions. What we enjoyed most was the way Cecelia explained the story to us as she read it!! We look forward to another visit from you, Cecelia!!

Little Gymnists!

We have started our gymnastics sessions which will run from Week 1 - 5. It was amazing to see Room 3 students having a go at doing the forward roll and trying to keep their balance while walking on the balancing beam. It was no mean feat! Thanks to our lady photographers, Zaynah and Avneet for capturing our budding gymnasts on camera!!!! Well done girls!! Check us in action!

More new students!

We have 2 newies who joined us on Monday. Welcome To Alexis Williams & Johnson Lie! Room 3 is now full! Thanks to some awesome buddies in our class who have been taking care of our new students & helping them settle in!!

Term 2

 We are well into Term 2 and its been busy from week 1. We had a new student, Libby who joined us on the first day of school. Welcome Libby! In term 2 we will be busy with testing as reports go home at end of term. We will be working hard to improve our reading, writing and maths levels .
