Life Caravan
In room 3, we have been learning about friendship and how to be a good friend. We were lucky enough to be visited by the Life Caravan which meant we got to meet Harold the Giraffe and his friend Louise. They talked to us about our bodies and what we can do to be healthy. We also shared lots of ideas about being a friend and got to practice being a good friend with puppets. At school we say that we are P.C.S. which means that we are "Polite, Considerate and Sensible." We know that if we want to make a friend, keep a friend and be a good friend then we need to always keep this in mind.
Thanks for stopping by :)

SPCA Mufti Day
On Friday everyone dressed up in their favorite clothes instead of their school uniforms and brought along gold coins, old towels and blankets and even canned pet food to donate to the SPCA who help look after unwanted, sick and abused animals. Thank you for your support, it was a great success and........
Room Three looked FABULOUS!!
On Friday mornings we also do Problem Solving Maths. Our problem this week was "5 children each got bitten 3 times by mosquitoes, how many times did they get bitten altogether?".
First of all we decided what the key information in the problem was and shared with our buddies how we would solve the problem. These were some of our ideas - Count, Draw a picture and Act the problem out. Here are some photos of us discussing the problem and acting it out.
We found that the children got bitten 15 times altogether. Kaipai Room Three!!
Thank you whanau and keep helping us practice our counting at home so we can get even BETTER.

Class Update
Hello everyone,
Once again we have been very busy in room three. In maths we have been practicing our numbers 1-20 counting both forwards and backwards, we are also learning how to skip count in 2's up to 20. If you could please help us practice this at home, that would be great as it would help us get even better!
On Friday we went on a shape hunt around the school searching for different 2 D and 3 D shapes in the everyday objects that surround us. Here are some of our photos.
Wow! We found SO many shapes!
