Maths

We are learning about measuring and learning about concepts like long, tall, short. We did an activity where we had to measure our buddy. We used a piece of wool and took each others measurement.

Term 3 - What's been happening in Room 3!

It's back to school after a much needed rest! All of us are ready to give our best this term!
It's been great to meet parents at Parent /Student /Teacher conference day on 8 August!
We also have some new students in Room 3 - Suvel Anand and River Blue.
We are fortunate to have Allan Brewster coaches this term and they are teaching us some fundamental skills like balancing & walking, walking on a line.  Look at us in action!

Learning about Tempo in music

On Friday Mrs Cork taught us about tempo. Tempo is the speed of music. Mrs Cork taught us an action song that had a fast and slow tempo.

Weaving

This week we learned how to weave. It was quite challenging! Luckily some of our buddies helped us to weave when we got stuck! During Matariki, weaving was an important activity that Maori people engaged in. They used flax to weave. We wove a mini table mat using paper. Check out our colourful mats!

Room 3 hosts whole school assembly!!!

On Monday 17 June, Room 3 hosted our school assembly. We had great announcers who said their parts beautifully! There was a slide show on what we had learned about Matariki (Maori New Year). Then we sang a Matariki waiata. Everybody sang and did the actions so well and Mr. Duncan played the guitar. Everybody enjoyed our assembly! So did we!!! Mrs Pather is very proud of her awesome class!! Thanks to all our parents that attended the assembly to support us!

Team assembly

Room 3 hosted our Year 1 team assembly with room 1. We got to make announcements and shared some work. Some of us also received certificates to recognise the awesome work we do and our awesome attitudes too! This was also an opportunity to practise for our whole school assembly.
